Kitchen Island Help

We have a basic white kitchen from Home Depot I think (came with the house) with brown/beige granite laminate and light beige backsplash.. I would change those things but can't right now. We want to add an island where our kitchen table is for some extra storage, we went to Ikea last night hoping to get white to match but their white is an off white so it wont work. There is a grey option which happens to be the colour my entire main floor is, which is fine I can repaint the wall it will be on, but is that too much grey for the main floor?. There is also a black option, which is risky - I really like it, I'm just worried it'll be too bold. We get a lot of natural light in so it shouldn't darken the space at all..there's also a little black in the countertop faux laminate granite.. what do you guys think? Or black island with a darker butcher block?

Also in terms of countertop, I wanted to just get a white quartz but now I'm thinking would the white not compliment the beige perimeter countertop and the backsplash? I kind of want to do it this way because hopefully eventually we will replace the rest of the kitchen. I'm at work at the moment so I don't have pictures.
