We painted extra for a licensed professional painter to paint our cabinets. It’s been 3 weeks since he painted and the paint has been chipping since day 3 and now it is rubbing off. He’s going to come back to just paint another coat on it, but I think he needs to redo them. The paint used was PPG Breakthrough and I had their rep come over and see if the paint is the problem or the painter. It all comes down to my painter, of which the rep was shocked. He even recommends this painter out to people. I asked my painter the steps he used in painting the cabinets and he said he sanded, primed and painted 2 coats of paint. I don’t want him to come back, I don’t have faith in his work or even fixing the problem. I wish I could just get my money back. Any tips on handling a situation like this?
