Looks to me like an off-variety seed probably got mixed in the seed packet. If so then yes, it could create a cross problem if pollen from its tassels drift to the other silks.. You can just cut off its tassels to eliminate its pollen and let it get pollinated by the others.

Open pollinated variety. No need to worry, unless you wish to rogue to save the best seeds. In todays world expect variance in OP seeds.

I don't plant that much corn, so probably not worth the trouble to save seeds. Good to know about variances in OP seeds. Thanks! I went ahead and cut off the tassel off the one stalk, just in case.
