What's a good, not too expensive cordless stick vac for hard floors? I have a corded one that works fine but I hate having to deal with the (off too short) cord.

The Dyson cordless stick is hands down, the best little easy vac I’ve ever owned. Absolutely love it and my kids can use it too.

Not sure about the V8 animal, but we just bought a V6, and we're taking it back. The battery on the 6 lasts only 5 minutes or so on max suck, and there is no hard floor adapter for it without spending another $135 for the entire hardwood floor head. I don't want to use the beater bar that comes with it on our cork floors. we have a small stick vac designed for hard floors only that has no beater, but the dw was looking for more power. the small stick does a fair job only.

I bought the V8 animal and it is great if you have a place to store with a plug. On full force it only lasted 8-10 min. I wish dyson made a corded one. Costco has it on special for 319.00. It was easy a light.

I returned it as I needed more battery. I ended up with a shark corded vacuum. It is the flex one that goes under furniture easily and folds so it is t just dropped upon not being used. It was a great fit for us. I would have loved the dyson if it could have been corded to really have power that lasted.

Most are over 1000 dollars, but special barebones models are often found for $300-$400. In my opinion, this is the best vacuum money can buy if central vac is not an option. If that price point is still too high, they have lesser C2 and C1 models available for cheaper, but they are lacking some features and have a smaller bag capacity. Whichever you get, buy the Parquet Floor Brush accessory for around $30. It is life changing for cleaning hard floors. The suction is actually scary, and even at full power this thing is unnervingly quiet. The exhaust filtration also can't be beat. We have 3 hairy mutts, and our vac powers through the white layer of hair that appears every day. The bags will cost you $20 for a 4 pack, and you'll use 1-2 packs a year. Please don't take my word for it though, reading through some independent review sites or watching YouTube vids on the product will tell you more than I ever could.
