I believe it is a succulents and also very etiolated. Even plants that trail (and many succulents do), should have more leaves on stems. It should be pruned quite a bit, and all pieces could be re-rooted. You'll end up with more plants.

My cat knocked it over more than once... I know it probably looks so sad but it seemed to be doing really well!

Maybe an Echevaria that needs way, way, way more sun? Shouldn't be growing like a vine.

You may be thinking it is doing really well since it grew long and probably fast. It is extremely etiolated since it isn't getting light it needs. That makes plant to grow skinny and long branches tat are misshapen and weak. here should be many more leaves, ad they need to be much closer together. It needs to be pruned considerably. Also, pot is very big for the plant. Let us know if you want to make this plant to grow better.
