I wouldn't change a thing with the color. The pop of aqua is perfect. I even liked the first gallery wall. Downsizing was ok and maybe taller lamps or floor lamps that articulate to different positions would be cool but really you don't need to do anything else. It's a beautiful space just the way it is.

your room is comparable to this pic. The lamps in the pic are higher and give a more balanced feel.
that being said you still have a very nice room.

Yes, definitely different lamps with different color shades. Take a look at the picture of your gorgeous boxer. See how his brown fur looks nice with your colors and pulls out the tan in your ottoman.

agree with the taller lamps also would add a fuzzy, loosely woven. throw of combination of the colors to tie all together and add texture

The only suggestion I would add is to have both of those beautiful pets in the pic together!!!

Thank you for the great comments! I LOVE those lamps... but agree that they are too short for the space. I spent several months looking for some. Want mercury glass and I like the black shades, but couldn't find ones bigger that work in my budget. I will move these to my bedroom and keep looking! I have been looking for a throw. Found one that was the perfect colors but I didn't like that it was striped in cream and aqua. Haven't found a solid color one that would work yet. Also, I do like that tan, but my family room has been tan, brown, beige and boring for so long (and still is) that I wanted to avoid using too much of that color in my sitting room! I do have tan colored slip covers for my dining chairs and matching tan curtains. I swap them out when I wash the white ones so I do get a little change every once in a while! Thank you so much! I have loved finding Houzz and now I am busy looking for ideas for my family room so I can do that room next!

Lovely room. You could raise the lamps with books, glass or mirror blocks.
