Neem oil on cucumbers

My cucumbers have a bit of downy mildew. Instructions on neem oil says it can be used "up to the day of harvest". Does that mean I could pick my cukes tomorrow morning, then spray with neem oil, then be able to harvest my cucumbers again the next morning, 24+ hours later? Will the neem oil dissipate/ evaporate into the air, or will I be left with difficulty to wash it off of the cukes?

Do you suppose neem is effective against downy mildew anyway?

Do you like a Bacillus subtilis product for cucumbers? If so, what are some brand names?

Products from the trees that produce Neem Oil have been used by the people of India (its native habitat) for generations for many things including toothbrushes with no adverse side affects, so yes you can spray plants with Neem Oil and harvest the next day, or same day even. Neem Oil is supposed to be effective at controlling Powdery Mildew and there are some rep-orts of it being effective at controlling Downy Mildew.

A brand name of "Bacillus subtilis" is Serenade.
