Core Aeration in August?

NNJ:

I'm planning on hiring someone to core aerate the lawn for the first time. I was originally planning to do it early september, but I'm wondering if it's ok to do it in August?

With all the rain and milder temps lately, my lawn is slowly starting to recover from drought stress. Looking at the 10 day forecast, it seems there won't be any 90+ degrees temps anymore.

Thoughts?

    End of August? Sure.


    Beginning of August? Perhaps not so much. Aeration is another stress on a lawn that's summer stressed. That's not necessarily the best idea, but also isn't necessarily an awful idea. Everything depends on the lawn...and whether the forecast is correct.
