This unit does not connect to an electrical outlet. It has electrical features built in that allow you to wire directly into the electrical raceway (electrical panel on left) from your home's main power. It requires its own dedicated circuit.

The electric comes in through the top of the unit when recessing between studs, and through the back when mounting directly on a wall. This allows you to plug your iron directly into the unit.

If you were wanting to install a unit near an outlet to make use of the outlet to power your iron instead of the unit, you will want to consider a non-electric unit, such as the ANE-42.
