Solanum pyracanthum, no its not succulent, but it has these crazy spines. Everyone should have one.

Whaaaa?! Rob, that is a crazy cool plant.

Doesn't look real... more like some crazy spiny plant sculpture!

It is real, and it has no tolerace for a dry pot. I am in zone 7 and it can grow in my yard. When it gets bigger, I am planting it out.

It screams “STAY AWAY FROM MEEEE!!!”

Wow, some really interesting flowers here!! I can not come too often or I'm bound to start buying agin. Beautiful!

Ha, since I've been coming to this forum, my wallet has been getting more and more empty!

Mike, so true! Same with stopping into garden centers, always temptations.

Totally agree SLD and my plant collection is constantly growing. Though the chill in the air reminds me to think about what is around the corner.

This was earlier this month. This is a Easter cutting that was mixed into my pot of CC's, seems to be happy.

Pink powder puff - a new plant I got recently. I think it's pretty cool, besides the very cute blooms it folds up its leaves at dusk!

    Wow, SLD, that colour!

Very nice, SLD! Definitely one to try propagating any branch pruning you do.

It has a very long stem that I want to whack back. I'd like to try grafting with what I prune off. I have to look for a nice fat plain old Adenium to try grafting it onto :-)

Well, I was waiting for this Astrophytum myriostigma flower bud to open so I could post a photo, but when I went to take a look this afternoon, I found this fellow chomping away at it.

I could see his little mandibles working away.

Very nice picture, but the result of the nibbling was no doubt not nice. Grrr.

A good chunk of the flower bud was already gone, so I just left him to have at it :-(

Second wave of flowering today: my two absolute favorites bloomed. I will post the others in the gallery like last time. Flowering is almost over, still waiting for a few first timers and Big Maude. She hates to flower, but some of her offsets aren't as reluctant so I'm hoping for the best.

This is one of my Tricho hybrids from Poot's House of Cactus. I called it Crushing Orange, but it is much more pink this time. Still very lovely. Reminds me more of a nectarine this time.

This is an unnamed Tricho hybrid from Mexican Hat Nursery. It is desperate need of repotting so only one flower so far this year.

Today Obregonia denegrii is making a rare appearance. This species is doing much better since I put them in a shady spot.

SpanishFly, I used to have one of those. I never got to see it flower before I fried it. I guess it can't take full sun even here. Live and learn.
