My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    My clients love it - it has a flamed finish which is more protective - it is harder than soapstone, but, not as hard as granite. There are many products to clean it and bring back the luster. I think patinas are wonderful. Buy something you love and dont worry about it. Life is full of imperfections.

      This counter top is pietra cardosa honed- with a flamed finish. it is really beautiful, not granite or marble---but, another natural material.

      Is it hard to take care of and keep it the grey color without oil stains? have also been looking at soapstone but don't like how dark it gets when you treat it with mineral oil. i prefer the grey-charcoal grey look. thanks.

      I now have new soapstone countertops. Here is the scoop. I bought a product from milk paint to preserve them. It has walnut oil in it. The soapstone gets knicked from every day use (we are careful about it too) so if you want a counter that stays perfect it is not for you. I personally love the look - it has what I call a patina. Reminds me of countertops in Europe. Its beautiful.
