all I see is a sideways picture. where is the part you want to repair? does the manufacturer have any recommendations on how to protect it? can you clear coat it with something or use something to recolor it? I know they refuse to replace, but perhaps they can tell you what products to use. I would also write a really 'nice' review on their page, site or yelp, just to see if that doesn't get some help for you. For 2K, it should last longer than a year.

you can buy synthetic rattan weaving strips and their are you tube videos on how to weave it.

the last time i had real rattan repaired in a 100 yr old rocker it was not very costly. i would not trim, but take the photo to an antique repair person who does rattan, it might be easier than you think and cheaper.
