Droopy Leaves on Monstera

Hi everyone,

I have a relatively large monstera plant that leaves near a east facing window and seems to be happy. However I've noticed the leaves that have come in over the past 6 months are still droopy and sort of flappy instead of holding themselves up. The stems on these leaves are upright and not droopy, it's just the leaves themselves that seems to have remained flimsy (like new growth) even as their color has turned darker and looks mature.

Could this be a watering issue? I currently water it every 7 to 10 days depending on the conditions... generally when the top inch or two of soil has dried. But I've read some people water their monsteras several times a week and keep the soil moist at all times.
