With the house and paving filling most of the portion of the lot shown here you are pretty much stuck with a townhouse look. Otherwise the main thing I see is the door and house appear to be floating above the level of the drive. So I would install a more substantial landing in front of the door and some way to grow small shrubs that hide the foundation - in this view with the car present the part of the house right of the door is what needs some planting to anchor it. Either remove part of the paving and plant in the ground or place a planter of adequate size (and durability) there, plant in that.

Will cars park there regularly? If so, how many? One? Two? If you limit parking to one car, I'd create an outdoor patio space on the other side -- outdoor furniture, a rug and some large planters with evergreen plants. It could be a sitting area with a little fountain, or a dining area with a colorful umbrella. I'd try to make the entryway a bit more grand with a contrasting stone or other material and plants or other decorative items on each side. And find another place for the garbage and recycling bins -- maybe along the side of the house. If that doesn't work, a wooden screen might be an option. Good luck with your project!

Perhaps the screen on the right hand side to hide the trash cans but still allow easy access. It would only be screened from the street. Right now one's eyes go directly to the blue can. Then I would follow your inclination and put two large planters on other side of the door perhaps with a topiary type planting or tall cone shape with some cascading flowers around the base for some color. It might be nice to have something grow along your foundation but I think that would be rather expensive and you seem to have other things on your plate. I think those two changes would make a huge difference for not a lot of money.
