Thanks for the budget. With no constraints, I seem to gravitate toward $2500+ multi-pendant fixtures for foyers. Not a comfortable budget for most people (including me).

For size, I think 2-3' in diameter. You want it big enough to make a statement, but you don't want it so big that it overwhelms the space.
