Does this lamp pull up and down ,. wanting to use it at an Island area,. to have it higher level when chopping food etc,... then would like to be able to pull it down when we dine in this area ?

Hi - Yes, the pendant is adjustable once it's installed. It can drop as low as around 8' from the ceiling and can be raised to about 3.5' from the ceiling.

Hi,. when you say 3.5 ft from the ceiling ,... is that measuring from the bottom of the lamp shade up to the ceiling or the top of the lamp shade or from the wood that is extended from the bottom of the shade ?? :)

It's measured from the ceiling to the bottom of the shade.
