Korlock is supposed to be good. I am looking at it too, I will add the specs once I gather all the info. They dont have it as readily available on the website as other companies so I may need to call.

I heard Mannington's Distinctive Planks are discontinued. I gotta look at Cortec, korelok, and I cant recall what else due to waterproof vinyl plank info overload.

MaryAnn Lucas, do you know the price on Neptune Max? There's not a dealer near me.

I am considering GoHaus, which is a WPC. Their website called it "waterproof", but I don't know how it is since it has some wood particles in it. I have samples at home that I'm going to test.

The other flooring specification I like to look out for is the max linear feet before transitions are required in their installation instructions. I've seen these vary wildly for SPC flooring. For example: Karndean Korlok requires transitions after 50ft, while Gemcore requires transitions only after 80ft. I guess this might correlate with their expected temperature sensitivity (or what the company is willing to waranty)?

We just did a 200 foot run. No issues.

Just noticed this thread. I have some comments.

- SPC isn't made in the US, period.
- If a product is 8mm, odds are it isn't SPC.
- SPC core max thickness is 5mm. If it's thicker, it is glued up ABA construction.
- You can't wear out a 12mil wear layer in a residential application. Anything more is overkill.
- I'd have to see the import paperwork to believe a SPC is made in Europe, especially when their headquarters is on the west coast. German stuff imports into the East Coast. They ship a TON from China like everyone else. (not naming names)

@ML Swartz, the thickest wear layer for SPC that I have seen in my research so far is the Flooret Modin product with a 40mil wear layer.

This is a honeycomb pvc and not laminate. They are just using the keyword "laminate" to sell the product. Laminate is compressed fiberboard. This stuff was out from China long before WPC even hit the scene. It had some major issues, that's why it never took off.

Because it is impossible to know the contents of recycled plastic. Plus, the recycled material does goofy things as far as expansion as contraction go (because exact composition is not known)

so SPC with virgin PVC is the way to go in regards to having no phthalates and other harmful chemicals? Thank you

Yep, we do not use recycle content at all in our SUPERcore product.

Does anyone know anything about Crescent Ridge SPC flooring?

I own a cottage in Ontario and it is not heated in the winter and is closed up sometimes in high temperature summers. The SPC flooring planks were recommended by a home improvement retailer in cottage country. Any suggestions? Also, any brand names that are recommended? I have about 500 square feet to cover. Provenza has a new LVP ESPC line called Concorde Oak. Anyone familiar with that? Their Moda Living line is very popular on Instagram, and was seriously considering it as a flooring option. But now I'm thinking ESPC/SPC is the way to go.

Supercore treads will have glue in returns available. Your guy may be able to rip a stairnose and miter the edge of the stair to glue it in. Aldo our SUPERcore treads are 60" and not 48" because you need more to work with. (I used to build homes, so I know)

Hi Andreas, I went with Flooret Modin rigid in the color Arbor and LOVE IT! Highly recommend, no fading. We do not have many windows in our home though so fading was not a concern for me. I have not heard of anyone complaining about fading with Flooret though.

Here is a picture of our guest bathroom with Flooret installed. We have it throughout the house in all rooms!

Durato's V-Evo in the color called Bean Town. It is 12 mils. It's between that and Flooret's "base" in the color called Kingswood. Both are 12 mils. I have read in many reviews that anything more is overkill. I'm happy to see you have Angle World/Durato and you like it. Please let me know if it's the V-Evo or something different. (It's all very confusing with these names and sub-names and product lines being ever so different within the manufacturer. The more we look, the more confused we become.) Thank you!

I’ve looked at so many floors I’m burned out. I should’ve done a spreadsheet like the author of this post. I originally wanted Flooret’s Modin line but I’m just not liking the 9” planks.. right now Provenza Moda is my front runner because of the 7” wide plank texture and long boards (I do NOT want 48” planks). Does anyone know of a brand that I should be considering??
I want SPC, do NOT want a pronounced pained bevel (but do like a thin bevel). Prefer some texture, want low color variation in light-medium brown. (Did not care for SuperCore or Paradigm samples)

@Megz if you reconsider your board length, I can highly recommend the MSI Everlife Prescott. Specifically, we installed the Fauna color and it's awesome.

wow. thx for starting this research and sharing. I was just enlightened about this today and really wondering if we should go this route over porcelain tile. does it hold up on stairs? we have had terrible experiences with vinyl on stairs and see the mistake we made with it not holding up.
