Alright. My wife and I want to install a front door overhang to block our entryway from rain, snow etc. We considered hiring a contractor to install a whole portico situation but are really hoping to get something in the triple digits that I can install myself. Here's the problem (and I have attached some photos to illustrate this) there is virtually no clearance between the door and the existing small overhang from our roof. To be exact, the door frame of the exterior door itself is 1" at the top and the door swings out meaning it would likely hit any overhang we attach directly to the wall.

I was thinking I could use that 2" space under the gutters seen in the second picture but that likely would not provide a lot of support.

Any ideas as to what I could do more on the DIY side for an overhang? Would love to hear any ideas. Thanks for reading!
