How about making the range hood darker to blend in with the cabinets?

Not a pro- I really like the warmth of your kitchen. Hood doesn’t bother me. The lights stand out to me in scale and feel too modern. I will follow to see what pros recommend. You have a very nice kitchen- I like that it’s not cookie cutter.

backsplash mosaic above the range is the thing I noted right away that is an element of the type you describe wanting to eliminate: "Old World"... I like the hood[slightly modern] I like the pendants [unexpected and lighthearted scale and so keep them]. what I would do is get a white ceramic tile [subway?] backsplash if the budget allows redoing that. there is light creaminess in your brick at the bar..so pull that light effect-matte ceramic tile -you pick the shape -for a new backsplash.....and paint the louvered doors over to the right the same creamy white if you can-they can come off usually and get sprayed....these things would change in your described direction.

See if you can exchange the pendants, they are way too small. Paint the hood a medium brown.
