Just to be clear! When you pick up your monthly box, there is still fabric left from the previous months? By years end there won't be much, if any, left? The whole year's worth of fabric is that initial 2 1/2 - 3 yards? Are the blocks from each month left in the box, so you can see what others have done? It is an interesting challenge.

Interesting blocks! I, too, am curious how this monthly box works. Do you do this as a kind of round-robin and you end up with blocks made by members of your guild?

-The quilter puts 2 1/2 to 3 yds. of fabric in the box at the beginning of the year

- Each month another participant takes one box, makes a block, puts in the box and then returns the box at the guild meeting And takes another box.

- Yes, all of the blocks and any left over fabric are kept in the box for the next quilter.

- At year end, the owner of the box, gets their box back with all of the blocks made by the quilt in the box participants.

Very interesting to learn how it is run. I do like the colors in the photo, but not something I would pick out for myself. I'd say those were tones. Making quilts for myself, I generally stick to tints. However, I generally work with scraps I've received from others, so work with everything. LOL

Thanks for explaining the process, very interesting. The modern quilt guild is the nearest one where I live, and they invited me warmly when we moved in. Only problem is I’m an old traditionalist.

Not anything I'd choose for myself, but I love seeing what others envision and create. Very interesting!

These ladies have awesome minds and vision! My brain must be too traditional as I don't think I'd ever think of these patterns. Would like to see how they are put together in a quilt. Val, what colors/fabric did you use? It'll be fun to see what you get back.

I used my walking foot and did it on my regular machine. For spacing, I put down painter's tape as I went along. Lots of turns of the fabric doing it that way which is probably why it took so long. Thanks for the compliments. If the heat can die down a little, I'll try to complete one of my UFOs. Plenty to chose from!
