I don't have an adjustable foot, but my 1/4" foot works a treat! Alternatively, get yourself a magnetic guide. I use one for wider seam allowances and have been very pleased with my results.

Something to keep in mind: sewing isn't a race. Your seams will be straighter if you sew more slowly.

A friend showed me her 1/4” foot for her quilting projects. I don’t quilt but could really use a guide. Will ck out the magnetic. Thanks.

The only way you'll know if the stop will stay in place is to try it out on a couple of plies of scrap fabric. I wouldn't buy anything until you've tried it.

That's an interesting foot. I have an adjustable one that screws in to one of the holes at the right, so you can adjust it and loosen and tighten with the screw. I use it most of the time, but it can move slightly every now and then. I just fix it when needed.

I have this seam guide from Nancy's Notions. I've used it a couple of times, but most of the time, I just don't feel like messing with it.

I don't have one of those, so cannot help answer your question about it; however, I do have a couple of tips for sewing straighter lines:

1. Slow down your machine. When it's on warp speed, the fabric can get away from you & create wobbly seams.

2. Adjust your chair...really. Your chair should be at a height where your palms rest on your sewing machine with your elbows forming a 90° angle. It will greatly improve your sewing, plus you'll be giving your shoulders and back a break from fatigue and strain.

Magnetic seam guide could be a problem with an electronic machine.

Magnetic seam guide has been fine with my Janome DC7100. If you have any doubts, contact your dealer or the company and ask.
