We currently have recessed lights in our kitchen and I want to add two pendant lights over our island. Trying to decide whether the pendants should be on same switch as recessed lights or a separate one. What is more typical? Electrician says he has done both and it is up to me, but of course adding a new switch means running more electrical wire from the ceiling to wall switch. Do you typically have pendants on when recessed lights are on?
