If it's well done it can look quite nice. I'd never heard of gold or metallic grout until recently, when I was watching an episode of Escape to the Chateau. In that case, the homeowner used gold paint, something like this,

Your installer will charge you triple to deal with it. It’s worse than a greeting card with a glitter bomb in it. It’s horrible sticky stuff that has glitter ending up everywhere. And sticking. If you want something like that, be prepared to pay the cost. And if doesn’t want to charge you triple, then he doesn’t have enough experience with it to do the job.
