i'd match the background color of your countertop, or else your backsplash.

The whole "island" seems misplaced with the rest of the kitchen. It would fit better in a farmhouse look.

You could do the color of your utensil jar or an apple green. How about a dark brown?

The white looks like a foreign object. Island should have been stainless steel. or iron.

Maybe you can stain the base to match the cabinets and distress it.

Do you have an accent color that you are already using? either in the kitchen or an adjoining room? If not, I would use your utensil holder color.

The other countertops, blacksplash appear to be an off-white which is why the island is so glaring. But sit back and study your photo in it's totallity.

3 different knobs/pulls also add to the mix.
So, find coordinating knobs and pulls for all pieces, useappliance handles and color as a guide. Paint island top in a complimentary color. Stain the island wood closer to cabinets OR paint to match the top of island.
