My Lakeside Paisley Print has already died down to nothing this year. I think it’s got a new little bitty new leaf.

slug damage ... followed by melting out.. improper watering ..... and the fact that it is sept ...

and.. as noted .... its going down early .... insure there are no slugs in the pot that might winter over ...

When plant is not getting optimum conditions they are much more susceptible to various problems. My guess hottunia bed was really rough place to live. ... As a result plant got all kinds of bacterial and fungal funk. Might take a bit to recover next year but with TLC should be back.

No different than humans with compromised immune system get sick and sicker more than ones with strong immune response.

Thank you all for the encouraging words. I feel better that I didn't kill it in with that terrible hottunia bed. I will definitely baby it this spring!! And make sure no surprises living in it this winter!!
