Yes it is but if I follow that rule it will be opposite how the two attached bedrooms are being put down !will look odd two bedrooms will be laid verticals and hall horizontal if we follow that rule

Don't butt the two up to each other. Run a transition board that is the full width of the door opening as a threshold, still flush. Makes for a cleaner look and provides the proper transition from one space to another. We did this for every room in our house and it looks great.
