spots on plant leaves

I’ve received a new plant haul in the mail, and while most plants arrived ok, the lipstick plant came with a lot of tiny brown dots all over the leaves. To me it looks awfully like bacterial leaf spot, but I’m hoping to be wrong. I’ve isolated the plant and other plants in the same shipment don’t exhibit any symptoms (yet). Am I wrong? Is this something else? If I cut off affected leaves, there will be nothing left. It did spend 3 days in a box at USPS’ mercy, could this be reaction to shock? Any advise appreciated!

I might have thought scale ... but some of the spots look too big. Can you scrape them off with your fingernail or with a plastic knife (very gently)?

I tried scraping it off, but it doesn’t come off. It’s like parts of the leaf are burned? But in a weird dot pattern.

Hmm. Sorry, I don’t know what it is. Some of the spots looked raised, which made me think scale.

It does look like an infection, and wouldn't have happened in 3 days in the mail. Most likely the plant was already infected before it was sent. You should contact the supplier about it.

Yes. That didn’t happen since you got it. You need to return it for a refund. The spots have pale centres like some fungal diseases. It doesn’t look like scale to me at all. Even without the disease the plant appears in poor condition.

Yeah, I’ve contacted the seller, but have yet to hear back. I’ve isolated this plant as well as the other one that arrived in the same box. The other plant (jasmine) looks totally fine though. Anyone knows what the incubation period for something like this might be?
