I had this idea in my head for awhile and I finally did it and I am so happy with the results! I wanted to share with others who might be able to do the same thing!

My kid's bedrooms were always a mess and there wasn't any sense of organizing ( or enough room to store all their toys and books lol ). So I had the thought of making shelves in the bottom of their closets since that was wasted space anyways. I still want to paint them a color.

Now my new task is getting them to work on at least keeping the baskets and books put away ( I'm giving up trying to keep the rest of the toys completely organized )

That's MDF, right? You may know this, but I thought I'd mention: If you decide you want to paint, there is iron-on paper edgebanding for MDF that gives you a nice clean front edge, and also keeps the primer & paint from getting sucked into the MDF and not covering as well.

Great use of space!

You could also buy some shelving to put in a space like that, as opposed to having to build it in.

I did the same in our closet, only I added to the top shelf. Works wonders for us!

I love that second picture of the little girl standing before the closet with all the things arrayed, with her expressive gesture. I hope you capture a similar image of the boy standing before the closet while things are still orderly!!! You know, for posterity.

(this falls in that before you know it they are grown and on to the next thing camp....)
