Here's a Duncan Phyfe table on Craigslist in my state, Maine, but the condition of yours with the scratches and finish issues will be a concern with some buyers.

Unfortunately this style of furniture is almost valueless, I personally wouldn't spend any time or effort to refinish it.

I just donated quite a lot of "brown" furniture after making some inquiries at second hand stores. I also placed an ad on craigslist for a Victorian large china cabinet with bowed glass. No takers.

They're a "dime a dozen" -- very popular and lots made and sold from the 20s through the 50s. Sometimes here you can't even give them away!

But...there was a huge difference in quality...lots were cheaply made and others heavier and more expensive when new....and they retain value.

I agree, Linda, but even the "better" stuff isn't worth all that much. I see it all the time here at Estate Sales -- still there on the last day and they'll make a deal to move it. Not the cheap stuff either but the good stuff.

Quality doesn't matter. They are completely out of style and supply so far exceeds demand that they have no value.

Before investing time and energy, contact a used furniture place in your area or look at listings on craigslist.

They are worth next to nothing. You will not recoup any of the time or money you put into it for re-sale.

As everyone else has said there is no market for brown furniture. If you really want to do this project the only hope is painting it and covering the chairs with a really cool fabric. I would do a lot of research first though because I see big demand for farmhouse style tables repainted, but not pedestal style tables. Unfortunately, even painted that style/silhouette of furniture isn’t in style right now.
