It is a Polygonum perhaps Polygonum convolvulus - Wild buckwheat or Climbing buckwheat are the common names.

Fallopia baldschuanica, silver lace vine (or sometimes, mile-a-minute vine).

Polygonum aubertii / Silver Lace vine?

Compare with Russian Vine, Fallopia baldschuanica.

It appears to be something in Polygonaceae. It may be Fallopia baldschuanica.

Falopia species?

Not confident, but check Cynachum leave.

Maybe Cynachum laeve.

How about Cynachum laeve.

Maybe a Fallopia vine. Not sure about a match, hybridization occurs frequently in this genus.

Fallopia?

One of the climbing species of Fallopia

Silver lace vine. Fallopia. Also called mile-a-minute vine and can be invasive.

Silver Lace vine or silver fleece vine. I have seen it listed as Fallopia aubertii or Polygonum aubertii. In some places it can seed invasively, planting itself into wild areas and spreading unchecked, so do some research with your local Dept. of Natural Resouces to find out if it a problem in Nebraska.

Vine ID for Jessica in Nebraska -we aren’t ignoring you

Houzz has been told about the FAQ forums. They are strictly one way forums and anyone who posts a question in one becomes dead to the world. Seems like it could be an easy fix but it's clearly not a priority for Houzz IT.

My comments are now missing!

Just checking if it is possible to post a comment here after reading posts in the "[Vine ID for Jessica in Nebraska -we aren’t ignoring you[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/vine-id-for-jessica-in-nebraska-we-arent-ignoring-you-dsvw-vd~5481339?n=13)" thread.

just trying this to see if it will accept the input.

Interesting!

I never saw some comments until later. A little frustrating because if the flower was clearer I could tell if it is Cynanchum laeve. A beautiful plant that Monarchs are said to prefer.

I call it bindweed, a cousin of morning glory. Those cute white flowers turn into 1000 seeds. The plant vines and grows over other plants until it 'binds' or chokes out the sunlight. It grows over bushes, up cornstalks and fences, winds it's way up and over everything, including backtracking over itself. Very hard to eradicate. As long as you keep it in a place to yourself that's fine. Try not to let it infect your neighbor's house or they'll be upset. Relatively easy to pull out, but as you pull it disperses the seeds in every direction. Heidi

I can see NHBabs post repeated several times and erilne_pa twice. Is this fatamorgana? How about you?

Floral is correct (as usual). This is nothing related to morning glories or bindweed but is nonetheless an aggressive and in many places, invasive vine.

Windberry, you found another anomoly. It's a little entertaining all these little bizarre totally unpredictable malfunctions imo. :))

Windberry, you found another anomoly. And the first time I wrote this it dissapeared, and peoples locations aren't showing up and some posts you can't tedpond to and my pictures aren't uploading again OMG! OMG!!! Never a dull moment. :))

I still am not sure which one it is. Looks most like wild buckweed to me. It grew new from the ground up this year, so it could be an annual. I saw it was there last year too. There was old vines on the fence including woody vines, but it did not grow any out from the old vines, only up from the ground. I just got my house late November last year and have been watching it to decide whether to keep it or not.

Yes, all this is extremely confusing! I think you will have to decide yourself.

Summing up, it could be either:

Cynanchum laeve (Apocynaceae family)

English common names: sand vine, honeyvine, honeyvine milkweed, bluevine milkweed, climbing milkweed, and smooth swallow-wort

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cynanchum_laeve

or

Polygonum convolvulus, synonym Fallopia convolvulus (Polygonaceae family),

English common names: wild buckwheat, black bindweed.

https://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=POCO10

or

Polygonum baldschuanicum synonym Fallopia baldschuanica , Polygonum aubertii (Polygonaceae family)

English common names: Russian-vine, Bukhara fleeceflower, Chinese fleecevine, mile-a-minute and silver lace vine.

Hope I got it correctly! :-)

It isn’t wild buckwheat. The flowers are too showy, the leaf texture is wrong and wild buckwheat is an annual so it wouldn’t leave woody vines on the fence. The flowers are wrong for Cynanchum.
