We are open to any seating...and seating for 6 would be good...can be more. I would not like the large window ( 7ft ) to be blocked by a high back sofa. Thanks Grey Heron!

I have a similar bay window in my living room, its 10' wide and 1' off the floor and I don't block it either. Here's what I've come up with.

It seats 6-8, has a TV viewing/conversation pit, a side conversation area, a 7x11 area rug, a bookcase by the kitchen entryway to balance the visual height of the fireplace/TV combo, and a sofa table behind the sectional. Its open and inviting. And your husband is straight on with the TV and has a right hand side table. I've added in a large round ottoman, which can also be replaced with a coffee table, although I liked the round shape with all the other squared off items. The sectional is a bit over 8'x8', the two side chairs are a bit over 3' wide and 3' deep. The round accent table is 30" D, the side table is 20"x24", the sofa table is 6'x13", and the bookcase is 4'x13" for your reference. I don't think a larger sectional will work so look for one around this size.

And you basically have one path of travel so I took advantage of that with this layout.

Ikea has a great sectional that I've used many times. Its super comfy, well made, and its very affordable. There is a company called Bemz that makes nothing but slipcovers for Ikea upholstery.

For the 10' wall just add pictures. You can do a collage of pictures or keep it more structured with 12 framed photos of the same concept, like 12 calendar images. Do 3 rows with 4 pictures per row.

Which brings me to my next question. Have you figured out what overall color palette and style you'd like to do in this space? And what type of curtains would you like? Would you like me to create an Ideabook for you to collect the item ideas?

Thanks so much Karen! Love the furniture placement!!! My color palette is Revere Pewter (fireplace wall) and White Dove. I have a 13'x6" x 9'6" area rug that has to stay hope it can work into the design. My curtains are a white linen with black hardware. I'm open to any design suggestions.

Thank you! We played around moving the furniture to mimic a sectional and there is something about blocking the front window (when we are seated) that we both don't like. Any other solutions that won't 100% block the large window with a high back? Also the walkway by the large window isn't a front door. The house is a classic colonial... front door opens to stairway, dining room on the right and this room is on the left. Thanks again!

My go-to solution is a sofa with two armchairs (swivel armchairs are nice for watching TV). This drawing represents one sofa, two armchairs, two end tables and two ottomans.

Hi Jennifer, my living room is almost you exact measurements. We have a fireplace with the tv above it too.We placed the Couch across and a loveseat to the left in front of a picture window that’s 3’ above floor. I have an oversized chair to the right and two small chairs flanking fp. It is very comfortable for watching tv and socializing. It seems like your couch might be too close to the tv with a walkway behind it. Could you you place the couch on that 10’ wall between the doors?
