I'm leaning more towards a big splash of colour - art? What do u think?

I love the chalkboard wall idea! Maybe you could frame it with a bold colorful trim? And add some art, colorful frames etc similar to the picture?

Fine Art America prints on metal and acrylic too which would be very durable for a kitchen setting.

I don't think you can go wrong with a piece of art. I would go to local galleries or art shows until you find something you love. Etsy is a good place to look also.

Are you looking to make it functional or more of a design element? Open shelving, a vertical herb garden, or adding a contrasting design element for a fun pop come to mind. Lots of ideas come to mind but have fun with it!

Have cover built for radiator and then you can do whatever - could place desk/telephone/laptop area here. Could be a great wall with colour & shelving for cookbooks......which of the ideas so far are speaking to you?

I think I'd go for art. I like to keep all kitchen stuff in cupboards for two reasons, looks neat/tidy and easy to clean down surfaces, nothing gathering dust that doesn't need to be there!

Well, I think color would look great too, especially if you go for fresh colors. Chalkboard paint can be relaxing too if you just have some fun while painting cheery stuff. You could also buy a few short shelves and put some colorful bowls/vases/frames on them. :)

Love the chalkboard paint suggestions! I have in my own home and it is always colorful with the messages that my wife or kids put up there..even the important messages!

Summer love is a gorgeous piece...obviously the most economical would be on paper rolled in a tube, then you would have to have it framed. I suggest putting a piece in your cart and checking out as a guest and see what they say S/H will be. I know for US addresses their courier fees are very reasonable. I do sell to people all over the world, so I assume International fees are o.k.

What I'd pay to get it framed here would probably equal the postage anyway! I would prefer the metal so it is long lasting and super easy to clean in a kitchen :) tho I'd like bigger than 24 x 24. Is that possible? Thanks again :)

I would go with colorful art .. not sure what your decorating style or colors are, but I like this set:

They seem to limit the size on the metal...I looked at other images....my guess is due to weight......acrylic would be my suggestion for a kitchen as it is easy to clean...like you.....I am neat and tidy....I have several of the acrylic pieces in bathrooms in my home (my kitchen has no real walls for art unfortunately)...you just wipe with a damp cloth... Acrylic is a very tough material and will last! You can get 30x30 and 36x36 in the acrylic.

Here is info about the acrylic prints...the image is on the back...you get more vibrancy than on any other material and you can wipe down the front without damaging the image. :)

A colored blackboard

The chalkboard idea works, but the artwork is very nice. You could put some 4"-6" deep floating shelves that are offset from each other vertically.

stainless steel floating shelves with decorative and colorful chinaware etc.

My lovely sister bought me this for our engagement present!! It is perfect on that wall!
