Help with Kitten

No one has ever been able to get close to these little guys/gals or their Mom, so as of right now catching them is not an option. I have been working on getting her to trust me tho. When I do, she along with a few others will be taken in to be fixed, I care so much about and love these cats....and in the last week, I've held 2 kittens while they took their last breathes.... my heart hurts so so so much....
BUT Right now I have a question about this little girls eye...(2nd time I have been able to hold her, 1st only because she was trapped in a bunch of crap in my garage and couldn't get back out). Could this just be a sty(?) ? or something worse? (take her to the vet, I know) but can I possibly do something here at home until I can get her to a vet...?

She needs to see a vet. Eye infections in kittens can become much, much worse, if left untreated. Please try to trap this family and get them vetted.

Yes, take her on in. The second photo looks like an injury and if so, she'll need meds to try and save the eye. It could also be the start of a respiratory problem....one that's contagious among cats.

Don't wait and try to win their trust since that will take too long (if at all) especially with the mom. Also, the mom will come back into heat and probably be pregnant again before you can get your hands on her. Get a trap....humane societies and rescue groups can supply them......and as you catch each cat take them in. I suggest you be prepared to keep the kittens in a room once they return home from the vet so you can continue socializing them.

Make arrangements with the vet ahead of time and try to find a vet that offers spay/neuter discounts to feral cats. Also call some rescue groups and ask if there are spay/neuter clinics in your area.

I wouldn't use any OTC meds since they could make the problem worse.

I know very little about cats but I hope you can find treatment for them. That's wonderful that you care about them and are helping them. My daughters vet is wonderful, he neuters/spays abandoned/feral cats for no cost. Its good they are kittens, then there's a chance for adoption.

So very sorry you have lost a few kittens. I also think that's more serious than a sty, her eye is cloudy and that's never good. I trapped feral kitten and their Mom in humane traps, and then got them all to the vet. I agree you can't wait until she let's you handle her more, she might not survive. Thank you for caring!
