Hi Betsy, what about the mustard color for the door? Seems it would work with the gray you used (nice!). I was going to mention a red but see it on the door to the right. Another thought might be a glossy black.

I checked and it looks like Puritan Gray has a green undertone that's not showing on my screen. I think the black door would look great.

Back would be subtle and elegant. For a bit more fun consider a subdued red such as Ben moore cottage red or cranberry cocktail. Both share a pinky black tone . What is the color just inside your front entry?

Is the door currently stained or painted? Loved that mustard color :(

the reason I ask is that it looks stained. a stain grade wood door costs Many times more than a paint grade door.

If that door gets direct afternoon sun, do NOT paint it a dark color! Dark paint heats up incredibly and destroys not only the paint job, but also the door under it.

The home reminds me of the Edwardian homes in San Francisco.

A wood door is an expensive thing. A painted door might as well be melamine. So, I wouldn't paint it. Rather, I'd refinish the wood door in its current color and top with a high gloss, and refresh the shiny brass accents.

I'd repeat either the dark gray or the same wood tone on the flat trim piece above the corbels next to the roofline.
