The three bottles on the shelf left of your dining table could be a good start to a table vignette. Place one or two bottles, a couple books and your clock (not on top of the books) toward the center of your table. I think that would be a better use of the bottles.

Well, John, start your impressive design lexicon with the boys “how do y’all like my coffee table vignette.” If they are duly impressed, the guys should be too. Then add, “it works if you follow the rule of threes.”

Until I find something that fits the bill, I followed Ellen’s advice with the bottles and replaced the red books with black until I get Ali’s gloves painted. Thanks Ellen!

Rule of threes and odd numbers: add the third bottle to your vignette and you're done.

Move your vignette more toward the center of the table, leaving the coffee table areas closer to the seating for actually use.

Agee about moving it. You don’t want it dead centre - asymmetry is good - but you don’t wanting it looking like it’s going to fall off the table either, or blocking its use.

Thanks to all for your continued suggestions. I added the 3rd bottle and moved it around.

I decided all that stuff was covering up the table, which I think is so cool. I’m going to fall back and punt. I may end up with a couple books and a small something. Right now, I’m going with the naked table. It sure does look good.

Crate & Barrel staged the table perfectly. The thing that really makes it is the big bowl with the spider plant.

I haven’t seen her anywhere. Hope she’s just taking a break. A lot of the gals have recently gone on hiatus.

John, and others, I’ve been following from the beginning and I am glad that someone brought up grover’s absence. I hope she’s alright too!

Does anyone have direct contact with Groveraxle...to make sure she’s ok?

I doubt it. She’s always seemed quite scrupulous about maintaining her privacy.

I am quite concerned too. In the 4+ years I’ve been on houzz, she has never been away this long. And even for shorter absences, she usually gave us the heads up that she would be away for holidays or computer repairs.
