following again!! Grover, why no pic’s with pup’s?

When I restored all my data from my old iPad to my new one, Houzz looks completely different. I have been able to find my way around the site but the sketch feature is missing. Any ideas, Grover.

No suggestions, Seajay. I don't use the app. I am in a browser on my laptop. I think the basic problem here is that the Houzz IT team is constantly playing with the site and at least half the time they manage to totally screw it up.

I would poke around on the inter webs and see if you can find a supercool gamer’s chair (or two) for your boys. And for the one who needs to sit really close to the TV, a low ottoman or a comfy pouf, or a giant floor pillow.....don’t call me names, or a giant dog Bed from Homegoods wood be a really affordable choice...yes, my kids had a 60” diameter round dog bed from the Cuddledown outlet for TV viewing when they were young.

They, and the husband, are still upset that it is gone...it was so comfy....but we had a bit of a flood and it got wet.

My 14 year old car with 255K miles just died. Should have seen that coming. In the next week, I’ll have to buy a new (for me) truck. All to say, this month’s furniture purchase needs to be a side table for a drink between the black recliner and sofa. What do you think about this one? Maybe the gold will match the gold beneat the recliner.

On a completely random note, does anyone know anything about this antique buffet? It was always in my childhood home and I inherited it about 10 years ago when my father passed. It is still in the house with my ex and boys because it could never fit in my apt. I won’t move it for a few more years until I decide to buy a house or townhouse. The dresser next to it is just there for size comparison. Ignore all the crap on top. I think it is from the late 1800s. My brother inherited the matching table and 10 chairs - yes 10.

Yes, the gold martini table is fine, but check the height. It's short, so make sure you'll be able to comfortably reach your scotch.

And I don't even want to know about that chest you just posted. It's a little scary.

That's nice! I've been searching for one also. Looking at gold and black mostly. Here's a few I thought may look good with the chair if any appeal.

The antique is a huge thing. It is actually pretty cool up close - but certainly doesnt send out the cool bachelor vibes.

It is 7 feet tall, over 2 feet deep and almost 7 feet wide.

The story is that my grandfather (who passed away as an elderly man when my father was about 18 yo somehow ended up with the whole set (table, chairs, buffet) when he ran a general store many, many years ago - prob early 1900s.

I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss the antique piece. I love furniture that has family history. Could you utilize it in your office? Add the leather chair and a zebra rug and you would have an eclectic vibe going.

Just here to make sure I stay in touch. My ADSL line was down for over a week and as that's my only connection to the internet I've only just found out that Johnthread No 1 had been disappeared, like Dunbar. Things moving along nicely, I see. I also like that side table you like, John.

Uh oh, that cool table you like requires *assembly*. You mastered pillows, so the table should be a piece of cake. ;-)

Right now, I live in a 3rd floor apt and the antique is the heaviest piece of furniture you have ever lifted - even after taking the top half off. It took me and 2 other men to move it from my dad’s house to my house several years ago and they are both ranches.

So it won’t live in the apt, but no worries. It will definitely move into my permanent place in a few years. It has too much significance to get rid of. I would just like to learn about its history. Maybe it will land In my home office!

I’m in CO this week with the boys for their spring break. This Georgia man and my 2 sons went snow tubing for the first time today. We don’t have that in GA!

Funny you asked about the next dilemma Kulrn. . I’m tackling the boys’ room. My ex was getting rid of the old leather couch we had for years. Great leather but it was beaten up pretty badly from the huge dog.

The boys and I skinned the couch to save the leather. We are going to make headboards for them.

I have never done this before so we’ll see how it turns out.

Hey John. Everyone else was too polite to say it. Well . . . it’s about time!! Gloves cook great. I’m glad you’re so happy with the apartment, you did a great job. I just want to mention that I think you can buy nailhead trim in strips that you just nail every 3-4 nail spaces. Makes it easy to keep a straight line. I haven’t looked recently so maybe not. If I find something I’ll post for you.
