We are looking into getting these windows replaced as they are 30 years old, do not block out much sound and are very hard to open. Would like more energy efficient.

Should I look into double hung or casement? I thought the simple casement might look nice as a home down the street has them and I like the clean look. Or should I stick to the window pane look and do double hung?

I have reputable window companies quoting me, but just thought I would get some opinions on here in the meantime.

Any drawbacks to either style?
