No. Meteorologists cannot even get a 7 day forecast right.........I would be very skeptical of a long range forecast, especially something generated by the Farmer's Almanac, which is highly inaccurate.

Best bet is projections and reports from government sources.

Somewhat. As a sidenote, short term accuracy is difficult, but longer-term trends and generalities are actually easier. They're not trying to hit a specific rain percentage or temperature, just the general trend. I've been advised that "weather" is much more chaotic than "climate," where the general trend is simply energy in, energy out, and son on.

Our current trend looks like neutral to El Nino for the winter. So neutral temperatures and a possibility of higher levels of precipitation for me. With the way the "new normal" has been going, that means warm and dry compared to my memories of my childhood. :-)

For me, that means very little and I don't need to change my normal practices to compensate. I'll spray iron in November, feed when growth stops, and otherwise wing it.

Farmers is just a bunch of bs for entertainment. I do follow the accu weather long term and its usually pretty close. By long term I'm talking 15 days or so.
