Obvious question - are you relocating the central vac and outlet?

That's a really big mirror. Maybe more see through frame and less mirror? What is it going to reflect? How about antiqued mirror?

We have many electrical outlets in the area..so not a big deal. We would lose access to one central vac outlet but it only affects 1 room...many more around the house to access the rest.

The frame we selected is 5" wide...in an antique silver. The actual mirror will be 45 x 73.

The mirror will reflect the dining room; with a window directly opposite the mirror wall.

Raise the bottom line up above the outlets, so the distances are the same on top & bottom in relation to the ceiling and floor. What style are you thinking? Antiqued?

Yes! Something like Lil shows would be so much nicer than one big shiny surface.

The actual mirror itself is not antiqued.

I've attached a pic of the frame....

I'll raise the bottom above the outlets and post how that looks.

I raised the tape above the outlets. Does it look better this way?

In general, do we think the size is ok or is it too big? Too tall towards the ceiling or too wide?...in proportion to the wall.

I raised the tape up a little higher above the electrical outlets and it looks a little neater...

The mirror/wall proportions here look similar to yours.

That frame and mirror IMO is a big yawn. Purchase something ready made. Here are some examples. Also check RH and WS Home for oversized mirrors.

The problem with ready-made is that I have not been able to find a mirror I like in the size I need. Plus, many of these large mirrors I do find are leaners only, and I will definitely be hanging mine up on the wall.

How is a mirror only a leaner? Any mirror can have D rings screwed into the frame for hanging.

Mirrors are called out as 'leaner mirrors' because they are large enough to lean, not because you can't hand them on the wall.

These RH mirrors are all called out as leaners, but they show them hung on the wall.

These mirrors are 18x18 so you can make it as large as you like.

At a furniture store, I was looking at an oversized mirror and was told specifically that the mirror was to be leaning only, that the frame might crack otherwise. That's where I got that idea from...

The RH mirror is very nice...I noticed it on the site earlier today. However, it does not come in the size I would like.

I meant the first RH mirror...not sure about the others. I'll have another look.
