A little late to decide if it works in your space, no? ;) I think it looks nice considering I can't really tell the style of the house (but it looks traditional from the few pics I see). I'm sure whatever you put in it will really change the feel of the room. Right now it just looks like a big dang shelving unit, but once you get furniture and goodies placed on walls and in cabinets, it will look just like you imagined. Good luck!!
