There's a ton of discussions on garages and garage doors. Have you tried searching?

Lovely setting for your new house. What siding have you selected for it and the garage? Because I'd pick a color that blends in, as Denita wrote above.

What do you mean by what "type" of garage door would one pick?

thinking of something like this ?

I agree with Denita. Front-facing garage doors should blend with the siding. Something with windows across the top that mimic the house windows would look nice.

gerrie, yes, I think that should work if it blends seamlessly with the siding.

I like windows in a garage from a practical standpoint for additional, free lighting. We have a garage entry to our house, and to me it's safer, and also makes it easier to find things (and put them back).

Something that matches your other wood

thank you beckysharp what do you mean by seamlessly? do you think the horizontal boards on the garage and the siding would need to line up?

thank you also danielle i have looked at many wood look doors and am concerned about the unreal look of them and what would happen if it gets a big scratch on it?

Seamlessly in terms of as close to the same color as possible and similar lines/style, so not overly fussy panels etc. on the garage doors.

^this. To me the wood look is too much of a contrast.

Some people like their garage doors to be the focus and that is where the high contrast doors would function. I prefer the garage doors to blend so the front entry can be the focus.

OP, already your home is situated so the garage door area is front and center so whatever you can do to minimize that aspect would elevate your home. Adding high contrast wood or wood look doors in a color that matches your trim will not minimize the focus to your garage.

This is a contemporary Farmhouse Style home with double hung windows. I hope you have ordered those style windows for your home.

Have you looked at Clopay garage doors? https://www.clopaydoor.com They seem to have lots of different options and you can customize your door. Personally I wanted my garage door to stand out.

I think a basic carriage style garage door, painted to match the front door would look best. The first image shows a darker front door, or you could do a bright accent color, like red or blue depending on your style.

I’d do a basic door the same color as the house So that it doesnt stand out.

Well...it's pretty simple. If you want your front facing garage door to stand out and visually be the first (and perhaps only) things visitors and passers-by see, then make the garage door style and color contrast with the rest of the house. This means an ornate style, and a color which is stand alone, or which match your contrasting color front door.

For examples, of how to make your garage door contrast and be the visual focal point of your house, just look at some of the photos above. Virtually all of them in the photos above scream "look at me!".

On the other hand, if your garage door is not the single most important thing about your house, you may want it to blend in with the rest of your house and not stand out. This is always hard to achieve since garage doors are always the single largest architectural element on the facade of any house. Said differently, garage doors always dwarf a facade, and the more garage doors or the larger the garage doors, the greater the problem.

In this case, if one is attempting to make the garage doors as unobtrusive as possible, then smaller is better--two single doors are much better than a large double door. And making the garage doors using the same siding and finish with the same color is the best design solution. Here's an example, using a mid-century modern Eichler home in California:
