Look what I found for Entry wall with badly placed light switches

I found a picture wouldn’t work with the light switches were they are, I found these wall hangings there are three large small and the medium that will go around where the wire is hanging a bit higher l may have to to

shoft them to the left a tad If anyone has a better idea let me know

what are those switches to? the outlet beneath the table, the sconce and what else?

Its a poor placement and very awkward to reach. Who designed that anyway?

If you can't relocate it, I'd at least drop it down so that you can hang some art work. do you really need those 4 switches? call an electrician.

quite frankly, no matter what you hang there, the funky outlet takes center stage.

Thanks ladies, will be seeing an electrician tomorrow , May have to be painted for to start. We do need the switches as two are for outdoor lighting ,

Yes moving them would be the best thing if it’s possible maybe even around the corner on that wall?.. sometimes I don’t know what people are thinking to place things in such odd places. Love the hangings - they are very cool!

painting the outlet isn't going to make decorating around it any easier. you still can't hang anything near it. your electrician can lower that outlet without too much trouble. (just cuts a hole further down, moves it down (hopefully there is enough play in the wires) and patching and painting the drywall above.

Moving it off to the right side requires him fishing the wire through all of the adjoining studs in the wall (a PIA), or completely rewiring it and putting it elsewhere. Just so you can hang something, I'd have him move it down and off to the left if possible.

personally I'd love to see a fabulous piece of art there. those hangings are nice, but not right there. you need something more because of the extreme height.

and, you already have wiring for a sconce. get a nice one to put atop any of these.

That is so odd. How do you even reach the switches, you can't put much on the table that won't interfere with the access. Even a table interferes. I do like your choices, though. But, if you can't move the switches, can you paint them and the cover? And the outlets, too? (Why are outlets vertical these days, instead of horizontal, anyway?)

I like those wall pieces going all the way up? You said there are 6 of them? Then maybe a low long bowl underneath the switch (if it’s staying). Fill it with colorful stuff. The pic below is the bowl I’m thinking of.

Check out Lutron colored switch plate covers. Maybe an alternative to what’s been suggested.

This is why you can’t leave any single detail up to the builder/contractor. They just don’t care! I would ask an electrician to relocate the switch.
