DIY? talk to a pool tile contractor and/or expert. Not all tile will work in pools and/or exterior, becoming the source of early tile failures.

Hi there. I know it has been awhile but do you remember where you found the picture with the blue, green, yellow and white pool tile?

That designer is Falling Waters Landscape. You can find their amazing picture on Instagram. And that tile is from Arto. If you’re interested in Arto tile, the BEST price you’ll get is from Pathway Melrose in Los Angeles. The guy (I think his name is Steve) is amazing and we ordered a bunch of stuff from him with amazing results.

I found the fish scale tile but I'm not finding the multi color tile in the last picture with the wooden fence. Was that from the same place?

I believe they are just 2x2 Arto tile (sorry this should be 3x3 Arto- you want to accommodate the 6inch waterline) . They have LOTS of colors and can also make custom colors. I would call Steve and Pathways Melrose and ask if he knows the colors. He’s an expert and only sells 2 or 3 brands. Here is more details.

Briana, how did your pool turn out?

Amazing! We ended up going with Heath tile for the pool in a blue color. Each one is hand painted (Like Arto) so the color is different and unique. I decided to go towards Heath because it’s a more modern look than rustic and I got the tiles for a steal on their sample sale. I wish a could upload better pictures but the quality on houzz doesn’t come out well for me when I download. I will try to post a couple of pictures of upclose. I did buy Arto for the above on a bench. I did an owner build, so there was a lot of love and late night Instagram looking for ideas. Arto and Heath were my very favorite tile companies.

That's gorgeous. I love the color variation. What decking did you use? We are looking at Artistic Pavers.

I looked at artistic pavers, many of my favorite designers used them and also concrete collaboration. But I ended up using Stepstone for my pavers, pool coping, and steps. Stepstone is also sold by Pathway Melrose and it was a great price (the style was great and the price was what we needed). We’ve been very happy. great quality. There were some issues with the coping when delivered and they completely came to the house to fix the situation (Steve helped to handle the whole situation and was SO awesome about it). Tomorrow I can try and take some. Here is a quick photo showing the custom curve we were able to get for coping. I will try to take some updates photos tomorrow

It looks incredible. I love the clean lines and the color against your tile. I just went on Heath’s website and so far I’m sold on an olive color. I’ll have to call for some samples. Thank you so much for the pictures!

The tiler did a terrific job with the Heath tiles on the corners. That angle with 45 degree cuts combined with the small square to finish off the line looks great.

Niki- make sure that you double check that the color you like is rated for pools (they have a list). And if you can get about 6 pieces of the color to see the variation, id recommend it. Green looks AMAZING in pools. i wanted green or white. Blue came because of the price, I needed a ton of tile for the bond beam so I only had 2 options. I’m happy with it though. It’s very pretty. The other tile I used in my yard was a black and white from Arto. I have a built in bench above the pool where I added the tile. It’s a weird combo that just sorta works. We are now planting and finishing up the bench. Hope to one day be done to post pictures of the whole yard. We also did a fire pit area and a large

outdoor bar. I posted some video and pictures on an Instagram account named “decoratingbynumbers”.

Thanks weathy! I was the general contractor on the pool build and as we got to the spa I researched hundred of pictures to see how they cut their tiles. A lot I learned from this process, but when I came across a designer that did something similar I fell in love. It’s probably one of my favorite little things with the pool.

Briana, it it beautiful. Wow! You did have a lot of tile. I love the tile above the bench - so fun. We have cement tiles on our kitchen backsplash and I wish I could use some like it in the pool but we were warned against doing so. I’ll check out your Instagram. What would you say were your bigger money savers? We are going fairly basic with the pool because I want to landscaping to shine but I’m noticing how the details on even a simple pool are just so special and important. I can’t wait for Heath to open tomorrow. We picked a dark pebble finish and I think green will look great with it. It’s so hard to pick the pebble color. Our builder doesn’t have a huge showroom with a bunch of pools.
