Large art over sofa on long wall; should be 2/3 width of sofa for right proportion. On closer inspection looks like thermostat is in center of wall....have it moved or find a pair of art pieces that relate to each other and hang on either side of thermostat.

Throw pillows in soft shades to being in the accent wall colors.

Some type of living plant will refresh the room too.

Can the vertical blinds be replaced with stationary curtains and woven roman shades for privacy.

Color. It needs color. And, the next time you buy 'wall art', buy something unique, from an artist, not a décor store.

@ Susan thanks you for your ideas. I cannot paint the walls because it's a rental. and the walls are very flimsy hard to hang anything that's heavy, we tried and the drill just goes right through so I have to be careful what to buy.

I tried to hang curtains but like I said walls are very light we drilled a hole it went right through. Makes it hard to do anything. I'll take your suggestions Susan and buy a couple pieces of art and put right over the sofa. What do you suggest for the other wall where the painting is at now?

You're off to a great start! Consider relocating your gray floral print to your sofa area. Don't worry about art from an "art store" vs "big box shop". Have fun with YOUR space and bring in elements that make you feel happy.

Thanks Dee! I appreciate it. I'm trying to do that and bring in my touch. I can't spend thousands in Art so I'm trying to make it work without over wow ding it's just a rental

We think moving the art over the sofa will work well too. Then try getting another piece to go where you have the floral print now, but one with more color. This will help. Also you might want to try getting a few pillows with some color and a few decor pieces with color as well. Below we will share a few pictures of our designs that might just aid in your dilemma.
