I would angle the sectional facing the fp head on. You will still have a comfortable view of the tv over the cabinet

I don’t know if i have the room to angle it without it bumping into the island

Pur solar shades on those windows and get a lower cabinet so the TV can be mounted at eyelevel when you are seated and also how big is the TV

65 inches

Our room setup is similar and we chose to hang our 65" above the fireplace. It's not too high for viewing, not even when seated in front of it on the sofa. Because our space is open to two adjacent rooms, this allows us to watch TV from various vantage points. Our eyes may go up to view, but our necks do not crane. I'm especially sensitive to the comfort aspect, as I have a degenerative spinal condition.

It is too high to put TV over FP. It is great place for wall art.

If it's truely a room for watching a lot of tv, then leave everything as it is. If the tv is placed over the fireplace I would want a sofa facing the fireplace with chairs on each side.

IdaClaire, I’ve been told that if you put your fireplace on, never to put your tv over the fireplace because it will damage your tv. Have you heard that?

Updates......

We still have to tuck the wire but this is what we ended with for the tv placement.

Looks like that was the best option. WOW, lots of windows. Hopefully you don't watch a lot of tv during the day (glare).

Yeah lots of lights. Still arguing with my mom about what to do for windows. She wants me to get blinds but i feel it will hide the beauty of the windows. I have 32 windows downstairs. This is what i did in my bedroom. I know the sheets are a little short.... i ordered new ones for that length

All windows
