Aloes (mainstream aloes like this one )are one of the more resilient succulents to heatwaves, since they come from much harsher climates than what you have in the US. To compare, cacti , some euphorbia and crassulaceae are much more susceptible to sun and heat ..... As for the look, aloes(or most plants in general) behave differently when potted compared to when grown in the ground. If your plant doesnt have any ants...then it should be fine. Visually i see nothing wrong with it aside from a bit of stress(which is actually more normal to have than not to have).....

If you suspect something might be wrong with the plant, check the roots by gently pulling the plants if they are firm in the ground, or the centers of the rosettes for any infestations.....

Control the ants, which can kill Aloes by cultivating a huge scale and/or mealybug population on them, which will suck the life out of them. The Aloe looks fine otherwise. Looks like 'Blue Elf', or the very similar 'California', both of which will give you a good show of orange flowers in spring.

I agree with hoovb it looks like an aloe blue elf and they bloom late winter early spring out here in California. They will start to grow again in the spring.

If there are ants there are mealie farms and that is why it is struggling in the heat. I put imidaclodaprid granules around the base of my aloes when I see ant activity and the plants always improve thereafter
