With this wood, you could do stainless steel or cement (or a material that resembles cement) if you don't want to go with a natural stone. I think the contrast between the wood and something more synthetic would be a nice touch. Since you're cabinets have a defined wood grain I'd go with countertops that have a more uniform texture.

If natural light is an issue in your kitchen, then I'd tend to go towards something lighter. For homeowners who spend a lot of time cooking in their kitchen, having something lighter/brighter so they can see what they're doing helps make the kitchen a more workable space. If you don't use your kitchen for cooking but use it as more of a social space, then you can do something darker. I see a lot of kitchens that are gorgeous with dark counter tops that are lit like a nightclub: great for atmosphere but not great when you're trying to chop vegetables ;-) It all depends on how you use your kitchen.

Which one is more suitable for the cupboards above ?

I was thinking maybe an Arctic White Corian counter. A waterfall edge at the ends of the counters would be a nice feature as well.

Drazy thank you for the wonderful ideas , my questions is I'd I chose the cement or stain counter top wouldn't be too much colors!! Since the kitchen tiles are offwhite, windows are brown, floor tiles are honey, and an island which I didn't decide yet which color ....I'm really confused and afraid of deciding
