new home in Florida

We are building a new home in Florida. We absolutely love the
Fantasy brown granite. Didn’t want all white ( too sanitary looking)
So went with a blue/gray backsplash. What do you think?

Not feeling the dark backsplash, just not my style. Congrats on your new house. FB is not granite either, but usually acts like a harder marble. Just be careful of spills & acids.

I quite like it - it seems to match the island pretty well, yes?

Based on the pictures, the backsplash seems much darker and monochromatic than the island. Are the floors brown?

I am curious what you were hoping to get out of this post. Is it a reveal? It feels different from a reveal since you are asking about one element you have already put it, so it feels like something else is going on.

Actually had to look up monochromatic! Ha
Yes felt like with all the movement in the granite/marble countertops had to go with a solid backsplash.
Floors are ceramic wood look tiles.

Just wanted to think what others thought?
    First time on this.

    Nothing sinister in mind

I love the fantasy brown counters. Initially I did not like the backsplash- found it too dark. But the more I look at it the more I like the way it ties in with the dark island. Well done. Congratulations on the new digs.

is the grout laid yet? I might consider a silvery/pewter/ grayish grout to make it pop. You have yet to put in your appliances and hood it appears. So with grout/appliances/countertop items, this might work. You might be uncertain about it? You could pull it out if you want....but you have to "finish up" or listen to what you think NOW and change it if you want.

    We will have undercab
Lighting and 2 pendants over the island
    Yours is beautiful!

No, I’m very happy with the backsplash. I thought I’d get 50% dislike and 50% like and that’s ok. To each his own.
I wanted something a little dramatic and I think I got it.
As for matching the countertops, who says you must?
    It matches the island.

Any plans to change the receptacle covers? Maybe dark like the back splash.

They only make white, ivory and brown receptacle covers.
You can paint the covers but never the receptacles.
So you’d have the white plugs and a darker plate. Not a good look.

Lutron makes a wide variety of colors of outlets, switches and covers. You may have to order from the internet or through a good lighting store.

    Wow! Didn’t know that. Thanks!

Well you wanted to know what others think. So now you know. Even though you don't care.

love it!!!! way to be unique!!!

Please make sure you have that marble sealed and look into an anti-etch component unless you are okay with etching!
