November 2018 Quilting/Sewing Goals

I didn't do much in October.....I did get 2 BOM blocks made of the 5 I was behind in. And, I started making a stuffed scottie dog. Got both sides made and started putting the 'connector' strip on and discovered I sewed one of the ears in the wrong spot. November will be better, I just know it!

Work on getting caught up on my BOMs, Make 2 heart blocks for a donation quilt a friend is making, Think about making a kit for a QOV, Work on UFO........ok, I think that's all.

Anyone else have thoughts about this month in your sewing area?

Well, the bazaar for Save the Children is this week, so nine Chemo quilts will be on their tables. I had thought to get some other items done for them, thinking it would be held in late Nov.. So now, I am thinking Christmas sewing, probably place mats for some former work friends. And then finding some patterns to use all that fabric, I scored last week.

I would really like to finish the memorial quilt...it's been dragging on too long!

I've lurked about more than anything. Looking forward to November and maybe getting a little Christmas sewing done. It's only 8 Tuesdays away!

I will finish my Aunt's lap quilt this weekend. DD is coming home for the night tomorrow, so I hope to make her 2 pillowcases before she gets here. Then I'll start on some Christmas gifts. Some table toppers for the same DD and maybe another DD. And an apron for the third DD. I'd like to make a couple of aprons for myself, too.

And then I would like to start cutting out some quilts for a quilting bee in January with some friends.

I love going to bazaars, Theresa. Let us know what all they had for sale. Donna, I think once you put your mind to do your project, it probably won't take long. Larri, Eight Tuesdays??? YIKES! Rita, Inspiration comes at the most unexpected times so be ready. :-) Bev, You have quite a list going there. Did you get pillowcases made for your DD?

I have one heart block made and another block that was requested for a comfort quilt. In fact, I was able to use an orphan block I had and turned it into a square in a square to get the proper size. Yea me......one more orphan block used. I also was able to move the ear from over the nose of the dog to it's proper spot and am ready to get going on that again. That unstitching wasn't fun at all.

Very funny, Lois. I'm glad she was so happy.

    Nannykins, well done!

I took my time on the quilting for my aunt's lap quilt, so I didn't get to the pillow cases. But the quilting came out really nice. I usually rush everything, I need to slow down more, so this was a good start.

I didn't get alot done in October either. I DID start the hospice quilt for the program that cared for my mother last year. The coordinator told me she could use a masculine quilt, so I decided on a log cabin from earthy browns/rusts and creams to stay with warmer colors. I will post a pic when I get enough pieced. She told me they call these quilts Celebration of Life Quilts. I am anxious to finish and get it to them and if I can complete before Thanksgiving, I will feel accomplished.

I need to finish the Jewel Box for a friend of youngest DD. Need to get something new in the Etsy shop, too.
