Could you post a diagram of the area including your kitchen and living room (with measurements)? I’m confused about what the photos are showing.

I will guess that the blue door is the front door. I would highlight its color with larger rugs with a pattern including the same blue. A narrow hall table along the wall with a rectangular basket or two on the floor below it will give you somewhere to put your umbrella and other stuff when you come in. A mirror over the table will give the area a more spacious feel, and art on the walls will add more color.

The larger space is not for dining? In any event a hall table along the wall as suggested by felizlady.

I would put a long console type piece of furniture on the wall to the left when you walk in the front door. That is the area to focus on.
